Southwest Job Network (SJN) and Mesa Community College are very pleased to announce the next event of SJN Southeast on the evening of September 24, 2009, in Mesa.

SJN greatly appreciates that this event is made possible through the support of and partnership with Mesa Community College.

 

 Module 2: 

Your Marketing Plan:  Resumes, LinkedIn, and Other Tools

Build on your career vision and create a personal marketing plan. 

Assess your skills inventory, decide who you want to "dance" with and clarify the benefits you offer to potential employers and / or clients. 

You will develop a personal marketing strategy and a tactical plan for getting visibility. 

Learn how to communicate your value in spoken, written, and online media, with a consistent message across your elevator speech, resume, LinkedIn profile, business cards, and executive bio. 

Successfully communicating your value will help you during networking and in your interviews.

 

 Learning Objectives for Module 2: Your Marketing Plan

1.       Define your marketing plan and brand.

2.       Distinguish between features and benefits.

3.       Differentiate your background using STARs.

4.       Develop a marketing toolbox with consistent messaging across Spoken, Written, and Online platforms.

·         From Module 1: Emotions & Vision, you should have:

o   An understanding of how your emotions, confidence and attitude affect career management

o   Your short-term and/or long-term vision statement

In an effort to address SJN members' interest in connecting and networking with each other within the same specialty as a means of support, SJN Southeast has implemented SJN Specialty Support Groups.  The specialty group designations are:

#2 - Human Resources (Generalist, Learning and Development, Senior, Benefits)

#3 - Information Technology (Management, Project)

#4 - Manufacturing / Support (Engineering, Technical, Production, Support, Operations, Management)

Registration and Fees
There is no cost for this seminar, courtesy of the support and partnership with Mesa Community College.

Voluntary donations will be much appreciated to assist in funding ongoing operating costs for this group.  Suggested donation amount is $5 per meeting.

Due to limited seating capacity, pre-registration is required.  Walk-ins will be seated on a space available basis.

SJN Southeast meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday evenings of each month.

Dress Code
Dress is business casual for this event.
